Personalised Learning with AI Agent towards Education 4.0
Education 4.0 is a future-oriented framework that emphasises a taxonomy of learning content and experiences to enhance students' abilities and skills, attitudes, and knowledge. Within this framework, personalised learning is a key approach for improving teaching and learning outcomes. In traditional classrooms, instruction is typically delivered to groups of students using the same materials, pace, and assessments, which can limit responsiveness to individual needs. Today, AI agents enable more immersive learning platforms that support individualised distribution of learning materials, customised tests, and automated marking and feedback, making learner-specific progress tracking and learning analytics more feasible.
Beyond automation, AI agents can further strengthen personalised learning by adapting explanations, learning pathways, and support strategies to each learner, creating a more unique and responsive teaching–learning experience. This seminar reviews current work in the field and presents practical examples of how AI agents can foster personalised learning, thereby advancing the aims of Education 4.0 pedagogy.
